About the role

This position is sign on bonus eligible. Based on eligibility. This role will require every other Saturday 7a-1p and flexible weekday hours 4-8 hrs per shift 2-3 days per week preferably.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of patient care duties and other professional activities as needed to facilitate patient care and treatment.
  • Aids in monitoring the flow of patient activities in the department.
  • Performs basic diagnostic x-rays supervised by a radiology technologist.
  • Identifies and assists patients with questions about procedures.
  • Prepares patients for exam and ensures patient safety in the absence of the radiology technologist.
  • Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist or registered nurse.
  • Aids in the performance of diagnostic exams based on assigned modality and career pursuits (Rad/Fluro, CT, IR, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound).
  • Retrieves patient orders and requisitions while supporting administrative or miscellaneous work tasks in the RIS, EMR, or other standard applications required in the workflow for diagnostic exams.
  • Aids patients to restrooms, with bedpans, urinals and other ancillary clinical support needs as required.
  • Aids with administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Senior or rising senior student preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field.
  • Clinical experience based on the educational program affiliated with the pursuit of career in medical imaging; Medical clerical skills preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to lift and move patients, equipment and supplies.
  • Physical ability to stretch, bend, twist, squat or kneel in the daily operation of the assigned clinical area.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure to ionizing radiation, MRI safety, and infection control as dictated by the procedural area.
