Mammography Technologist PRN - Breast Center

Summary of Job Duties

The Mammography Technologist will be responsible for producing quality images and providing patient care in the UAMS Breast Center.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma, Graduate of a Radiological Technology Program, Registered with ARRT, Arkansas Radiologic Technologist License.
• PREFERRED Qualifications: RT(R)Mammography Registered

Responsibilities

• Operates specialized radiologic equipment to perform high quality breast imaging exams including mammography and breast ultrasounds.
• Maintains adequate level of supplies and keeps workspace clean.
• Communicates mammography exam procedures to patients and enlists patient cooperation in positioning for radiological examination.
• Provides patient education regarding mammography and breast health.
• Aids with records management and scheduling appointments.
• Obtains patient history and enters into Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Schedules exams and reviews previous records to determine correct studies are performed.
• Ensures exams are completed and images are in Picture Archiving and Communication (PACS) systems.
• Enrolls patients in BreastCare Program as appropriate.
• Maintains knowledge of breast procedures including ultrasound biopsy, stereotactic biopsy, MRI guided biopsy, and needle localizations through continuing education and professional development.
• Completes other duties as requested.
