Schedule

This position is full-time, working four rotating ten-hour shifts weekly, covering every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Works under the supervision of the physicians and management team to care for patients within the Radiology and CCIR departments.
• Completes medication reconciliation on patients undergoing contrast or invasive procedures.
• Communicates with physicians regarding patient conditions, needs, and care plans.
• Assists physicians and technologists with invasive procedures as requested.

Requirements

• Formal LVN or RN Nursing Education (required)
• Bachelors of Science (BSN) in Nursing (preferred)
• RN or LVN License (required)
• ACLS and PALS CPR certification (required)
• BSN with CRN designation (preferred)
• One year experience as a critical care or Interventional Radiology nurse (required)
• Greater than two years’ experience as a critical care or Interventional Radiology nurse (preferred)

Skills

• Strong organizational, interpersonal relationship, decision-making, and patient care skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, positioning, techniques, and both radiation protection and safety standards.
• Excellent venipuncture skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to determine when physician intervention is necessary.
• Ability to prepare and recover patient pre, intra, and post-procedure in Radiology and CCIR departments.
• Ability to deviate from normal techniques when necessary to develop new and better techniques to keep the department up to date.
