About the role

The Radiology File Room Clerk at Optum Radiology is a key member of the care team, supporting the vision and mission of the organization. This role involves processing and distributing radiology files, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, and assisting with administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Burn Patient images via all systems: Coactiv & Change Health Care PACS
  • Share radiology imaging via CD or electronic image sharing solution with both patients & physicians' offices while remaining HIPAA compliant
  • Participate in various projects and meetings and complete other tasks assigned by management
  • Distribution of CDs via mail / FEDEX
  • Respond to all outside physician fax requests
  • Respond to internal emails
  • Interoffice & pick up all requested imaging
  • Handle all CD uploads both within the department & outside of radiology
  • Complete all lawyer requests in a timely manner
  • Cole collect payment for any imaging requests
  • Answer internal/external phone calls
  • Pickup & drop off of CDs
  • Maintain file room logs
  • Adhere to the standards identified via Sparq regarding Optum Employee Policies
  • Work cohesively with fellow employees to achieve specific team goals
  • Comfortable working in high pace environment
  • Monitor the fax server, retrieve and / or scan documents and assign to the appropriate electronic chart
  • All employees are expected to keep abreast of current medical requirements relevant to their position, which includes maintaining patient confidentiality and abiding by all HIPAA and OSHA requirements
  • Cross-train and help in other locations if needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of computer proficiency (multi-tasking through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience
  • Ability to travel to other offices if needed for coverage

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with an electronic health record (EPIC)
  • Knowledge of Radiology
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience working with scheduling programs
  • 1+ years of experience working in medical office

  • Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others

Pay

The hourly pay for this role will range from $16 - $29 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
