Responsibilities
- Operate digital fluoroscopic and portable radiology equipment to obtain high-quality images according to physician and protocol specifications.
- Ensure patient safety by adhering to radiation safety standards and organizational policies.
- Evaluate and acquire images, verify proper patient identification, and label images correctly.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives, training, and educational activities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked work environment, and perform quality control on equipment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providing education, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort.
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records and distribute images promptly.
- Follow departmental policies, safety standards, and ethical guidelines, including ARRT Standards of Ethics.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent radiologic technology certificate from an accredited program.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required upon hire in Maryland, within 90 days in Washington, DC.
- State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
Skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
