Radiologic Technologist I

Responsibilities

• Operate digital fluoroscopic and portable radiology equipment to obtain high-quality images according to physician and protocol specifications.
• Ensure patient safety by adhering to radiation safety standards and organizational policies.
• Evaluate and acquire images, verify proper patient identification, and label images correctly.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives, training, and educational activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked work environment, and perform quality control on equipment.
• Communicate effectively with patients, providing education, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort.
• Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records and distribute images promptly.
• Follow departmental policies, safety standards, and ethical guidelines, including ARRT Standards of Ethics.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent radiologic technology certificate from an accredited program.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required upon hire in Maryland, within 90 days in Washington, DC.
• State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.

Skills

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
