Radiation Therapist PRN
Job Summary
Your primary function is to administer prescribed doses of radiation to patients, using radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards. You are also responsible for verifying prescribed treatment dose, specific body parts to be treated and angles to be used, placing and immobilizing the patient to ensure accurate treatment, maintaining constant contact with the patient to assure they remain in proper position throughout treatment, assuring placement of protective devices to shield healthy exposed tissue of patients, charting treatment details, reporting any abnormal conditions to the radiation oncologist, and providing appropriate teaching to patients and families.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiation Therapy Technology
- ARRT Certified in Radiation Therapy Technology
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Two years’ clinical experience in a hospital environment preferred
