About the role
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for administering ionizing radiation for therapeutic purposes in accordance with the prescription of the Radiation Oncologist and is accountable for the simulation of patients in preparation of radiation therapy, basic patient care and education.
Responsibilities
- Interprets and implements prescription and treatment plan.
- Delivers and charts all simulation and treatment summaries.
- Performs simulation procedures, prepares immobilization devices.
- Accurately measures, contours, and obtains other information as needed for dosimetry purposes.
- Assesses treatment machines and performs daily equipment warm-up and quality assurance procedures.
- Aids in clinical training and evaluation of student therapists if applicable.
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Responsible for basic patient care during treatment delivery, assists with patient education, observes and monitors day-to-day clinical progress of patients for signs of treatment symptoms.
- Provides accurate daily billing information for all treatment related procedures.
- Responsible for scheduling and treating patients in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
- Radiology Tech License in the state of practice, if applicable.
- Certification in Radiation Therapy from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy. Degree will be verified.

Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. $46.91 - $72.39
