Additional Job Description Details

• Aids RN in daily patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders, and ambulation.
• Maintains accurate documentation in EMR.
• Performs purposeful rounding and communicates patient/family needs to RN.
• Participates in admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing.
• Completes various errands and maintains stock.
• Performs patient positioning and transporting duties.
• Assists with nutritional needs and skin care.
• May remove IVs, provide post-mortem care, and perform bladder scans.
• Follows infection prevention policies.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders.
• Lift up to 50 lbs., lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
• Push/pull with 30 lbs. of force, perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
• Use foot pedals on carts or machines.
• Functional vision and hearing.
• Exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards.
• Exposure to blood and body fluids.
