Quichua Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Quichua Interpreter to work remotely from home. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally
• Render accurate and concise interpretations between Quichua and English speakers
• Speak clearly and use proper pronunciation and polite expressions
• Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during interpreting sessions
• Ensure punctuality and availability during work hours
• Adhere to client instructions and follow protocol to meet expectations
• Understand and apply industry-specific terminology and procedures
• Show cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment
• Be prepared to handle emotionally and/or stressful calls

Requirements

• Fluency in Quichua and English
• Cultural competency and regional/accent awareness
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills
• Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive calls
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred
• Adaptability to LLS technology enhancements
• Age 18 or older
• Legal authorization to work in the US
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and write requested languages preferred

Qualifications

• Work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship
• Pre-employment background check and/or drug screen may be required based on location
• Technical requirements for personal device and internet connection
• Physical requirements for operating a keyboard, mouse, and remaining stationary

Pay

The pay rate is $1.25 - $1.40 per minute.

This is a remote position where the Interpreter works from their home-office.
