Quechua Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Quechua Interpreter to work remotely from home. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally
• Render accurate concepts and meanings according to established protocols
• Speak clearly in both Quechua and English, maintaining proper pronunciation and enunciation
• Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during interpreting sessions
• Ensure punctuality and availability during work hours
• Follow client instructions and comply with protocol to meet client expectations
• Understand and adapt to various industries' terminology and procedures
• Show cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment
• Be prepared to handle emotionally and/or stressful calls

Qualifications

• Fluency in Quechua and English with cultural understanding
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with limited English speakers
• Experience in language-related fields preferred
• Adaptability to LLS technology enhancements
• Age 18 or older, legally authorized to work in the US
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and write requested languages preferred

Technical Requirements

• Dedicated personal device for business purposes
• Desktop/Laptop computers with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS operating systems
• Tablets (iPadOS or Android) and smartphones (iOS or Android) are acceptable
• High-speed internet connection with minimum download/upload speeds and ping/jitter values
• Quiet workspace free from background noise or distractions

Physical Requirements

• Able to operate a keyboard and mouse for most of the workday
• Sufficient manual dexterity to type/write
• Able to lift up to 26 lbs
• May be exposed to moderate noise levels

Pay

The pay rate is $1.25 - $1.40 per minute.
