Quechua Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Quechua-English phone interpreter to work remotely from home. This is an independent contractor position with no employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render accurate and concise interpretations between Quechua and English speakers.
• Adapt to various industries including healthcare, insurance, finance, and law.
• Maintain professionalism and neutrality during interpreting sessions.
• Provide cultural sensitivity and handle sensitive topics like end-of-life conversations.
• Work flexible hours to fit interpreting needs.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Quechua and English with cultural understanding.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to remain calm and focused under stress.
• Experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Proficient in LLS technology and able to adapt to changes.
• At least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write Quechua and English.
