Queens District Attorney's Office Brave Justice 2L Summer 2027 Legal Internship
About the role
The Queens County District Attorney’s Office offers a highly competitive Summer Legal Internship for second-year law students (2L). The program runs from June 7, 2027, through August 6, 2027, and provides an outstanding opportunity to learn about the office while working alongside Assistant District Attorneys in the nation’s most diverse county.
Interns will be assigned to a specific bureau within Investigations, Criminal Practice and Policy, Appeals and Special Litigation, Major Crimes, or Supreme Court Trial Division. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in public service and criminal law.
Responsibilities
- Researching and writing assignments for pending cases
- Motion and discovery practice
- Assisting with search warrant applications
- Observing proffers
- Conducting civilian and police interviews
- Making court appearances pursuant to the student practice order
- Visiting crime scenes
- Participating in community outreach programs with the Community Partnerships Division
Interns will also attend divisional and office-wide legal training sessions.
Schedule
Interns work in person Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for approximately 9 weeks.
Pay
A stipend of $900 per week is available for the duration of the internship. Students receiving partial outside funding will be supplemented by QDA funding.

- A limited amount of housing may be available to non-NYC domiciled students on a case-by-case basis, dependent on proximity to the office.
