About the role

The role is based in South Brunswick, NJ (onsite).

Responsibilities

  • Support daily quality and food safety operations on the plant floor
  • Aid the Supervisor Product Safety Site Leader in maintaining site compliance
  • Maintain and update Food Safety Plans in accordance with FSMAS
  • Support development and implementation of HACCP, SOPs, and SSOPs
  • Participate in food safety and quality committees, including allergen control, sanitation, and traceability
  • Partner with Production and Maintenance to troubleshoot quality issues
  • Support equipment commissioning and process improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records for FDA and regulatory compliance
  • Interact cross-functionally to support audits and inspections as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in food science, food microbiology, food safety or related field
  • Experience supporting quality and food safety programs in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate within all levels of the company and with suppliers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other software tools required for data entry and reporting
  • Working knowledge of FSMA, HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, and SSOPs
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills
  • Able to work hands-on and interface directly with plant floor teams
  • Experience training employees and contractors on food safety practices
  • Able to support investigations and corrective actions
  • Effective communication skills across multiple functions

Qualifications

  • Certified in HACCP
  • Certificate in Preventive Controls for Human and Animal Foods
  • Experience in FDA-regulated food or ingredient manufacturing
  • Audit experience using GFSI schemes; FSSC 22000 preferred
  • Active participation in food safety or quality committees
  • Involvement in equipment commissioning or process validation
