Quality and Product Safety Manager

About the role

Own the Quality and Product Safety function for the Juneau facility, a 24/7/365 manufacturing operation supporting the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. Lead a team including a QC supervisor, Food Safety Manager, Sanitation Supervisor, and QA/QC teams (~15 direct + indirect reports).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with supply chain, engineering, operations, R&D, and maintenance teams to ensure high-quality product delivery on time and in full.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts for Quality and Sanitation functions, acting as a subject-matter expert for all quality and product-related issues.
• Own audits, investigations, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective actions for quality-related issues at the facility.
• Oversee and actively engage with all manufacturing team members to foster a culture of quality and food safety.
• Support and oversee the performance of the QC laboratory, Sanitation, and Food Safety work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related science field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in Quality supervision/management in a food manufacturing or similar industry.
• Experience with GFSI standards preferred.
• Experience with RCAs, audits, and quality improvement projects.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Hands-on, data-driven approach with proven experience in both technical and analytical problem-solving.
• Ability to support product testing inquiries and internal investigations.
