About the role

Provide Occupational Safety & Health and Quality Assurance support for a large diverse support services contractor workforce, in a military defense systems testing environment, with a team of other Safety/QA Specialists, under the direction of a Safety/QA Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts section Quality Control and Safety audits, investigations of personal injury and vehicle accidents, and inspecting buildings and shop areas for compliance with safety regulations and guidance such as OSHA, ARMY, and EPA.
  • Reviews and enforces TRAX Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Aids in the education and enforcement of company Safety, Fleet Vehicle, and Quality Policies.
  • Continuously assesses current practices, identifies areas of improvement, and solicits process improvements.
  • Identifies, analyzes, communicates, and mitigates common industrial support activity hazards, as well as dynamically emerging hazards relative to test activities.
  • Investigates and reports post-incident causal factors analysis.
  • Inspects contract compliance activity, reviews work center processes, interacts with Government subject matter experts and evaluators to facilitate continuous improvement in Quality/Safety.

Requirements

  • Must have a BS in a Safety related safety/environmental related field or equivalent applied field experience within safety and quality control aspects.
  • Training in safety/environmental courses, seminars, or certifications.
  • Must be knowledgeable of OSHA, DOT, and NFPA Regulations.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Must have demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, conflict resolution skills, and be able to work with a variety of personality types.

  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed; sometimes on short notice to support test missions.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

  • Level II Ammunition Certification.
  • HAZWOPER 40-hour class.
  • Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT).
  • 30-hour Occupational Safety and Health Training Course (Construction or General Industry or both).
  • Experience working with DOD or other government agencies.
  • Certified Vehicle Accident Investigator.
  • Experience with the operations and maintenance of military equipment such as weapons and vehicles.

Job Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
