About the role

The Quality Inspection Supervisor at Crane Aerospace and Electronics is responsible for leading and directing a team of inspectors, ensuring that all components, materials, and finished goods meet quality standards as per organizational and customer requirements. This role involves supervising and training employees, monitoring quality-related KPIs, and conducting various inspections and audits.

Responsibilities

  • Train, lead, and oversee Inspectors in their daily duties to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to quality standards
  • Develop, coach, and mentor employees through performance planning to drive employee and business growth
  • Review the daily allocation of resources to support production schedules and meet customer requirements
  • Maintain applicable non-conforming material system dispositions
  • Make staffing decisions to build and grow the team to meet business needs
  • Support in-process and new product design and introduction inspections
  • Auxiliary tasks may include customer source inspection, delegated manufacturing inspection representative (DMIR), and conformity inspection

Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years in aerospace or another highly regulated manufacturing environment with quality inspection experience; 1+ years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, Process Improvement and Control Techniques, reading engineering drawings, manufacturing best practices, logistics processes, engineering management, safety management
  • Skills/Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate, structured problem-solving, cross-functional team engagement
  • Education/Certification: High School Diploma; Certified ISO/AS Lead Assessor credentials preferred; Bachelor's Degree preferred; ASQ certifications such as CQT, CQI, or CQA preferred

Qualifications

  • Experience with AS9100, FAI/AS9102 processes, CMM or Keyence optical systems, or other advanced inspection tools
  • Previous supervisory experience within an aerospace or electronics manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with FAA Part 21 and 8130-3 documentation
  • Understanding of industry standards such as MIL, ASTM, ASM, or NADCAP requirements
  • Experience working with aerospace customer portals (Hamilton, Airbus, Boeing, Pratt & Whitney, GE, etc.)
