Aerospace Quality Inspector

About the role

The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for conducting inspections, aiding in the implementation of a rigid quality system, maintaining proper documentation, reports, and keeping a reliable paper trail in support of repairs and manufacturing, all in compliance with customer requirements within a FAA 145 Repair Station. They will also investigate product quality problems and recommend changes or improvements.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspection of Seats, Monuments, panels, and other interior components.
• Aid in the inspection of raw materials, parts, and components.
• Prepare in-process inspection reports ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain quality documentation.
• Identify serviceability of parts and components and appropriate tooling.
• Utilize inspection tools such as multi-meters, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and bond meters.
• Utilize various measuring devices and gauges.
• Read and interpret part documentation including blueprints.
• Proficient with PC, manufacturing software, and be familiar with MS Office.
• Verify that all repairs and modifications are being documented and signed off by technicians in the applicable W/O.

Requirements

• Minimum Education and Training: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience.
• Minimum Directly Related Job Experience: Airframe & Powerplant License highly desired.
• Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: Knowledge of inspection techniques and tools within a FAA 145 repair station; thorough understanding of FAR's and regulations pertaining to aircraft maintenance part 145; high mechanical aptitude; ability to read schematics and blueprints; proficiency with PC and MS Office; knowledge of quality control; ability to interact with a group of coworkers; ability to work with complex equipment; ability to establish procedures; ability to work in a production-oriented environment; ability to work under frequent changing priorities; ability to select and evaluate priorities; ability to read and comprehend documentation written in the English language; problem-solving and decision-making skills; good written and verbal communication skills; self-starter with ability to multi-task and prioritize work day/projects independently; ability to travel.

Qualifications

• Physical Motion: Sedentary work: Moderate walking or standing or moving light objects. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and almost no amount of force frequently.
