Quality Control Inspector - Steel

Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspects all fabrication jobs to maintain the quality levels of work produced in accordance with applicable codes, standards, contract documents, and company QC procedures.
• Prepares detailed and thorough daily inspection reports.
• Maintain records on all shop welders with their level of certification and monitor daily rod use.
• Aid in setting up, monitoring, and maintaining welding procedures, bolting procedures, and painting procedures required for projects.
• Provide feedback on questions related to quality and project requirements from shop employees.

Qualifications

• Previous fitting and welding experience is required.
• AWS certified welding inspector, ASNT level-II certification, and/or SSPC/NACE certification is desirable.
• 5 years of experience in a steel fabrication shop environment.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings and pass an inspector test.
• Must have excellent mathematical skills.
• High School or equivalent degree required.
