Quality Assurance Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead the quality and food safety function for a high-volume food manufacturing facility operating multiple production shifts. This position is responsible for ensuring products consistently meet quality, food safety, regulatory, and customer requirements while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop the Quality Assurance team, including hiring, training, performance management, and employee development.
Oversee quality testing and inspection of raw materials, in-process production, and finished products.
Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems, SOPs, specifications, and documentation.
Ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, SQF/GFSI, FDA regulations, and other applicable food safety standards.
Prepare for and lead customer, regulatory, and third-party audits while maintaining audit readiness.
Manage food safety programs, sanitation verification, pest control, and certification programs, including organic and Kosher as applicable.
Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformances, implementing effective corrective actions.
Analyze quality data and identify opportunities to improve product quality, process capability, and operational performance.
Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Supply Chain to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Oversee quality-related activities with suppliers and co-manufacturing partners.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field preferred.
5+ years of Quality Assurance leadership experience in food manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SQF/GFSI, FDA regulations, and food safety systems.
Experience leading audits and managing regulatory compliance.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT.
HACCP and/or SQF Practitioner certification is a plus.
Pay
$90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
