About the Role

From tree to table, POM Wonderful delivers health through fresh pomegranates, pomegranate arils, and a selection of pomegranate-blended juices and teas. As the Quality Assurance Lead, you will assist in supervising all quality assurance functions, including the implementation, development, audit, and maintenance of the plant’s quality and food safety systems such as HACCP. This role ensures compliance and customer satisfaction by monitoring quality assurance personnel, providing training, and maintaining technical expertise. You will also offer technical support to quality assurance, production, and other plant departments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain all applicable elements of POM Wonderful’s Quality and Food Safety systems to ensure compliance.
  • Lead and assist in special projects and analyses during the season, focusing on the Arils process.
  • Participate in PC checks and implementation for FSMA (HARPC) and support the sustainment and development of POM Wonderful’s HACCP Food Safety Program.
  • Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and oversee testing, including water, in-process arils, air monitoring, finished product micro testing, environmental swabbing, and sample preparation/submission to third-party testing.
  • Provide technical assistance to Quality Assurance operations, including equipment calibration, supply ordering, and aiding in product quality achievement.
  • Maintain processing records for product, packaging, and ingredient holds, and review documents for product release.
  • Review manufacturing process records to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Create, review, and maintain daily production files, including all production processing and quality paperwork.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with state-specific food safety laws and the biology of microorganisms.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports and recommendations based on research outcomes.
  • Logical thinking with an enquiring mind and knowledge in biological sciences.
  • Ability to align plans with business perspectives while working hands-on to complete tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to provide guidance and assistance to employees at all levels, including professional communication and directing personnel.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to perform analysis and communicate results effectively.
  • Computer literacy with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to scheduling and environments.

Pay

$24.00 - $26.00 hourly
