Summary Of Position
The Purchasing Coordinator supports the Procurement/Operations department with timely and accurate replenishment orders for stock raw materials, and packaging items. This role ensures timely purchasing while maintaining compliance with food safety and quality standards, cost controls, supply chain and operational efficiency.
- Utilize MRP system to determine and accurately order raw materials, packaging and supply stock items.
- Place, confirm, and track purchase orders with suppliers to ensure on time and in full deliveries, OTIF.
- Ensure Purchase Orders and supplier Order Confirmations are accurate for specified item, price, quantity, delivery date and delivery location.
- Work closely with Procurement, Transportation, and Supply Planning departments.
- Ensure only specified raw materials and packaging are ordered from QA approved suppliers.
- Ensure supplier compliance and service level for raw materials and packaging ordered.
- Maintain supplier transactional documentation.
- Ensure supplier pricing is accurate in the MRP system and communicate any price discrepancies to Buyer.
- Maintain inventory levels within company guidelines.
- First line of contact for resolution with issues pertaining to deliveries, invoices, and service.
Required Skills, Education, And Experience
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
- A high school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, or related field)
- Two years of purchasing, administrative, or supply chain experience (manufacturing preferred)
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Experience with ERP/MRP procurement systems
- Ability to manage multiple department requests in a fast-paced production setting
