About the role
The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for assisting in all areas of Purchasing/Estimating. This position takes ownership of assigned projects and provides background, analysis, and summary of issues at hand, offering possible solutions.
Responsibilities
- Focus on assigned projects including issues with purchase orders and FPO's.
- Assist Builders/Estimators in making sure PO's are accurate.
- Research and confirm requests are valid, ensuring there isn't duplicity.
- Analyze information, identifying discrepancies and inconsistencies.
- Attend weekly starts meetings and FPO meetings, offering assistance as needed.
- Work directly with Cost Analysis and Operations Manager on cost details/issues.
- Aid in obtaining pricing from trade partners for new plans and options.
- Handle permitting of homes and HOA approvals.
- Ensure all vendor packets are updated and accurate.
- Follow up with trade partners as necessary.
Requirements
- High School Diploma is required; Bachelor's Degree or equivalent homebuilding experience is preferred.
- Experience working in a construction-related capacity is a plus.
- Experience conducting bid analysis is a plus.
Skills
- Strong computer skills including Excel Spreadsheets.
- Experience with JD Edwards and On-Screen Takeoff is a plus.
- Analytical, detail-minded, team-oriented, and a good communicator (internal and external customers).
- Ability to read bid sets, architectural plans, and construct cost estimates preferred.
- A visual learner with strong organizational skills and an autonomous mindset.
- Permitting experience and experience working with a Builder.
- Self-motivated to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- A problem solver who can take ownership of projects.

Schedule
Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM, with additional hours as necessary.
