About the role

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for managing open purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery of materials and components to support business operations. This role serves as a key liaison between suppliers, procurement teams, planners, and internal stakeholders by monitoring order status, updating due dates, expediting critical orders, rescheduling orders based on demand changes, and coordinating order cancellations when necessary. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive communication to maintain supply chain continuity and inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Balance the inbound flow of materials that support the manufacturing lines while also ensuring inventory KPIs are met.
  • Manage POs in accordance with defined inventory targets (ABC order policies & MOQ).
  • Ensure PO unit pricing does not exceed standard material costs and push back on supplier price increases.
  • Proactively take immediate action to address and resolve issues to minimize delays in production.
  • Negotiate volume price breaks with suppliers.
  • Identify potential supplier shortages/capacity issues and collaborate with internal team members to help drive work prioritization.
  • Ensure technical issues are escalated and mitigated with stakeholder support.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve issues impacting performance, quality, lead-time, delivery, invoice discrepancies, and drive appropriate actions when needed.
  • Ensure MRP is updated with the correct purchased part parameters.
  • Satisfy the needs of internal and external customers by responding to requests, understanding requirements, and building successful & productive customer relationships.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve processes and participate in quality improvement teams when appropriate.
  • Ensure the Production Planning team has been informed of potential supplier shipment delays.
  • Escalate supply-related issues to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Manage RTVs with vendors as needed.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience within purchasing, procurement, or a related supply chain role.
  • Basic Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and formulas.
  • Experience with ERP or MRP systems (e.g., SAP, QAD).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across a broad range of functions and varying levels.
  • Ability to identify problems and take the initiative to resolve them.
  • High motivation to learn, develop, and perform in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $30.00/hr. Individual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Redmond, WA.
