Purchaser / Site Engineer - Rail

About the role

We are seeking an Aankoper / Werkvoorbereider Spoorinfrastructuur to support sustainable mobility and innovative railway projects. In this role, you will prepare railway construction sites by developing technical dossiers and collaborating with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

Aankoper

• Select and manage suppliers based on quality, safety, environmental, BIM, planning, and cost criteria
• Solicit and analyze bids, negotiate to optimize costs while maintaining standards
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Serve as the project buyer for assigned projects

Werkvoorbereider

• Prepare detailed technical execution plans covering groundworks, tracks, switches, overhead lines, signals, and cabling
• Review project documentation for risks and improvements
• Develop technical specifications, execution plans, and schedules
• Coordinate with project management, planning, and external partners
• Assist with measurements, construction methods, and technical drawings depending on project phase

Qualifications and Skills

• Professional bachelor in construction, electromechanics, or related fields, or equivalent experience
• Strong affinity with construction or railway sectors
• Analytical, precise, and conceptual thinker
• Ability to work independently and in team settings
• Flexible, communicative, and stress-resistant
• Skilled in technical preparation and commercial negotiations
• Experience with Excel; knowledge of planning software or AutoCAD is an advantage
• Driven to contribute to quality project execution and maintain good supplier relationships
