Public Relations Game Night Intern

About the role

Join the Detroit Pistons as a Public Relations Game Night Intern and gain hands-on experience supporting the Detroit Pistons Communications team during home games throughout the 2026-27 NBA season, including playoffs. This internship runs October 2026 through the conclusion of the 2026-27 NBA season and is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to launch a career in sports communications, public relations, or media relations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with game-day media operations before, during, and after Detroit Pistons home games.
• Prepare and maintain the media workroom and press workspaces.
• Support in-game public relations initiatives and postgame media responsibilities.
• Distribute and manage media credentials.
• Provide media members with real-time statistics, game notes, and other supporting information.
• Transcribe coach and player interviews following games and media availability.
• Assist the Communications team with additional game-night responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Available to work all Detroit Pistons home games throughout the entire 2026-27 season, including potential playoff games.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree (Junior or Senior standing preferred) or a recent graduate within the past six months.
• Pursuing or interested in a career in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Sports Media, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Organized, dependable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
• Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the NBA schedule.
• Reliable transportation to and from Little Caesars Arena.
• Able to secure and provide their own housing for the duration of the internship.
