Responsibilities

  • Represent public sector clients in a variety of public finance transactions, including general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, and other tax-advantaged financings
  • Serve as bond counsel, disclosure counsel, underwriter’s counsel, or borrower’s counsel, as appropriate
  • Advises clients on North Carolina public finance law, tax matters, and related regulatory requirements
  • Draft and review bond documents, closing certifications, and transaction materials
  • Participate in client meetings and work collaboratively with bankers, financial advisors, and other professionals
  • Support business development efforts and contribute to long-term client relationships

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina, or ability to obtain licensure promptly
  • Substantive experience in public finance, municipal law, or government representation is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with state and local government financing structures and applicable tax considerations
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters effectively and work both independently and as part of a team
