About the role
Join a respected and collaborative team with deep roots in public sector representation. Work directly with local governments, offering day-to-day legal counsel. Contribute to the growth of a dynamic office in one of North Carolina’s most exciting legal markets.
Responsibilities
- Advising local governments on legal matters including governance, contracts, land use, and public meetings
- Drafting and reviewing ordinances, resolutions, and legal opinions
- Representing localities in administrative and legal proceedings
- Staying current on legal developments affecting municipal clients
- Collaborating with attorneys and staff across offices to deliver integrated legal services
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active member of the North Carolina State Bar
- Five or more years of experience practicing Local Government Law in North Carolina
- Strong understanding of municipal operations, FOIA, zoning, procurement, governance, and public meetings
- Existing relationships or experience with municipalities in the area is a plus

$200,000 - 250,000 commensurate with relevant experience and book of business
