Public Finance Attorney (Associate)
About the role
Robinson+Cole, a Vault “Top Ranked” Am Law 200 firm, seeks an associate with at least two years of experience to join the Public Finance team in the Boston, Hartford, New York City, Philadelphia, Stamford, or Washington DC offices. This is an exciting opportunity for the selected candidate to play a central role in structuring and executing public finance transactions while developing strong client-facing and deal management skills.
Responsibilities
- Play a central role in structuring and executing public finance transactions
- Serve as bond counsel, representing the public finance group in debt issuance and restructuring matters, and other types of bond transactions
- Exposure to complex, high-impact transactions involving governmental issuers, institutional investors, nonprofit organizations, and major financial market participants, with a primary focus on the affordable housing, student housing, and workforce housing sectors
- Contribute to critical public infrastructure projects
- Work on deals involving state and local governments in any legal capacity
Requirements
- At least two years of experience working on deals involving state and local governments in any legal capacity
- Top academic and transactional credentials
- Strong writing, research, negotiation, and communication skills
- Experience and aptitude with a broad range of financial concepts; prior work in banking or consumer finance is advantageous
- A solid background in public finance, especially in structuring bond transactions, with expertise in municipal bonds

Pay
The target base salary range for this position is $190,000 to $217,500. Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's class year, years of experience, skills, and qualifications.
Schedule
Our attorneys are asked to work in the office a minimum of 2-3 days per week to benefit from in-person connection and collaboration.
