Public Finance Associate

About the role

Dinsmore has an immediate opportunity available for a public finance associate in the Cleveland, OH; Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; or Pittsburgh, PA offices. We are open to entry-level candidates licensed in Ohio or Pennsylvania as well as those with some experience in public finance or municipal and governmental law. Entry-level associates will be trained and will work closely with our attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Serving as bond counsel
• Representing lenders, borrowers, and underwriters in a wide range of financial transactions
• Managing all levels of transactions through to closing
• Developing best practices
• Utilizing all available resources to resolve legal issues and counsel clients

Qualifications

• Strong academic background
• Detail oriented
• Excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Preference given to candidates licensed to practice in Ohio or Pennsylvania; however, out of state candidates who are either willing to sit for the Ohio or Pennsylvania bar or eligible for admission in Ohio or Pennsylvania will be considered

Skills

• Strong general tax, corporate, or transactional experience (candidates with this background who are interested in transitioning to public finance are also encouraged to apply)

Pay

• Base salary starts at $172,000 and increases depending on experience and qualifications
• Up to $45,000+ in bonus potential
