PSYCHOLOGY PROGRAM MANAGER

About the role

The Mental Health (MH) Clinical Operations Manager (COM) is located in the Mental Health Service under the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) Program Manager at VA Northern California Health Care System. The COM works in close collaboration with the MH Management Team to facilitate the logistical and operational needs across MH programs at their site.

Responsibilities

• Ensures efficient delivery of services related to BHIP program, involving both day-to-day operations and long-term planning and growth.
• Provides oversight to BHIP team operations in order to assure comprehensive provision of collaborative care.
• Helps to ensure that the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program BHIP Team meets the overall performance standards, measures, and mission of the VA and the BHIP Program.
• Ensures timely, integrated, efficient, and effective delivery of MH services across the continuum of care for Veterans who are served at the Chico and Yuba City sites.
• May include but are not limited to:

Requirements

• Experience: At least three years of experience as a professional psychologist, with at least one year equivalent to the GS-13 grade level.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities in organizing work, setting priorities, delegating tasks, and meeting multiple deadlines; utilizing evidence-based practices and clinical practice guidelines; dealing effectively with individuals or groups representing widely divergent backgrounds, interests, and points of view; managing and directing the work of others to accomplish program goals and objectives; translating management goals and objectives into well-coordinated and controlled work operations; analyzing organizational and operational problems and developing and implementing solutions that result in sound operation of the program.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) at the time the program was completed.
• Have a doctoral degree in any area of psychology and - in addition - successfully complete a respecialization program (including documentation of an approved internship completed as part of the respecialization program) meeting both of the following conditions: the respecialization program must be completed in an APA or CPA accredited doctoral program and the specialty in which the applicant is retrained must be consistent with the assignment for which the applicant is to be employed.
• Hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
• May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation and meet the criteria).

Pay

The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-14. The actual grade at which an applicant may be selected for this vacancy is GS-14.

Schedule

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Tour of duty subject to change to meet the needs of the Agency.
