About the role

Assistant Professor to serve as a full-time psychologist in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University in the School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Work implementing clinical research protocols and as a therapist and assessor on these studies.
  • Be involved in data analysis and publication.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team of EHVP to provide clinical services, conduct clinical research, and supervise postdoctoral fellows and trainees in the conduct of care and research.
  • Provide clinical supervision to psychology and social work trainees and to psychiatric residents.
  • Support and facilitate the educational programs of the Department, School of Medicine, and University.
  • Advise students, staff, and junior faculty by spending time and guiding individuals regarding academic, curricular and career matters.
  • Conduct work to create and add to knowledge.
  • Disseminate and peer review are critical to research productivity.
  • Attain and manage funds appropriately to sustain research endeavors.
  • Provide excellent and appropriate patient care at all clinical/hospital sites while ensuring compliance with all policies and regulations on patient care and billing.
  • Participate in quality improvement endeavors.
  • Serve as a role model for others.
  • Provide academic and professional expertise to serve the Department, profession, community, nation, and the world.
  • Participate on committees for the University, WCN, and Affiliate Institutions.
  • Ensure continuing professional development.
  • Complete all administrative requirements in accordance with the needs of the Department and School of Medicine.

Requirements

  • PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  • Professional licensure Licensed or license eligible in Georgia.
  • Records of accomplishments.
  • Experience working with veterans.
  • Experience with patients with PTSD, TBI, SUD, anxiety, and depression.
  • Publishations.
  • Communication Ability to communicate clearly in English.
  • Team Building Experience working within a multidisciplinary care team.

Qualifications

  • Experience in clinical research, exposure therapy, treatment of PTSD and associated comorbidities, and/or working with veterans.
  • Interest in clinical research.

Skills

  • Evidence of academic achievement.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English.
  • Team Building Experience working within a multidisciplinary care team.
