Psychiatrist - Locum Tenens Coverage

About the role

This inpatient psychiatrist position involves providing full-time psychiatric care across all ages in a structured clinical environment with a multidisciplinary team. The clinician must have prescriptive authority and an active Alaska medical license.

Responsibilities

• Deliver inpatient psychiatric services during weekday day shifts.
• Perform evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care.
• Manage a variable caseload with support from RNs, LPNs, and Therapists.
• Treat a variety of mental health diagnoses, including suicidal ideation and self-harm.
• Optional weekend and call coverage.
• Work with a diverse patient population of all ages, with an average stay of 30 days.

Requirements

• Active Alaska medical license.
• Prescriptive authority required.
• Experience in inpatient psychiatric care.
• Strong clinical evaluation and medication management skills.

Schedule

On-site position with a 40-hour workweek during weekday day shifts.
