About the role

The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization serving nearly 30,000 people across rural southwest Alaska. This position is responsible for delivering client care within a 24-hour framework to promote safety and well-being in the assigned department(s). Duties include providing a healthy, safe, structured environment; engaging clients and families in a therapeutic alliance; delivering therapeutic interventions as directed; and functioning as an active member of the PATC staff. You will assist with escorting clients within and outside Bethel, participate in client social, educational, and therapeutic activities, and take direction while demonstrating a commitment to learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver client care that promotes safety and well-being in the assigned department(s).
• Provide a healthy, safe, and structured environment for clients.
• Engage clients and families in a therapeutic alliance.
• Provide therapeutic interventions as directed.
• Function as an active member of the PATC staff.
• Assist with escorting clients within Bethel and outside of Bethel when needed.
• Actively participate in client social, educational, and therapeutic activities.
• Write progress reports that accurately reflect client progress.
• Read medication administration records.
• Perform basic arithmetic for money handling.
• Solve practical problems in rapidly changing situations with limited standardization.
• Respond appropriately to aggressive and violent client behaviors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• CPR, First Aid, and Non-violent Crisis Intervention certification required within the first 90 days of hire.
• Valid Alaska Driver’s License required within 90 days of hire.
• Basic computer knowledge, accuracy, and dependability.
• Ability to work in residential treatment environments.
• Ability to understand and apply instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children preferred.
• Substance Abuse Certification preferred.

Pay

Minimum hourly pay: $23.15.

Schedule

• Full-time, 80 hours per two-week pay period (40 hours per week).
• Non-exempt (FLSA status).
