Psychiatric Technician - Bautista, $4,000 sign on bonus

The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta is home to thousands of lakes and two primary rivers—the Kuskokwim and Yukon.
About the role
Within a 24-hour framework, responsible for the delivery of client care that promotes safety and well-being of all clients in the assigned department(s). To provide a healthy, safe structured environment; engage clients and families in a therapeutic alliance; provide therapeutic interventions as directed; function as an active member of the Bautista staff. Assist with escorting clients within Bethel and outside of Bethel, when needed. Expected to be an active participant in client social, educational, and therapeutic activities. Must be able to take direction and have a commitment to learning.
Responsibilities
- Deliver client care that promotes safety and well-being
- Provide a healthy, safe, and structured environment
- Engage clients and families in a therapeutic alliance
- Provide therapeutic interventions as directed
- Function as an active member of the treatment team
- Assist with escorting clients within and outside Bethel as needed
- Participate in client social, educational, and therapeutic activities
- Write progress reports that accurately reflect client progress
- Read medication administration records
- Perform basic arithmetic for money handling
- Solve practical problems in rapidly changing situations with limited standardization
- Understand and apply instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Respond appropriately to aggressive and violent client behaviors
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- CPR, First Aid, and Non-violent Crisis Intervention certification required within first 90 days of hire
- Valid Alaska Driver’s License required within 90 days of hire
- Basic computer knowledge, accuracy, and dependability
- Ability to work in residential treatment environments
- Experience working with children preferred
- Substance Abuse Certification preferred

Minimum hourly pay: $23.15
Schedule
- Full-time (80 hours per week)
- 40 hours per week
