About the role

Within a 24-hour framework, responsible for the delivery of client care that promotes safety and well-being of all clients in the assigned department(s). Duties include providing a healthy, safe structured environment; engaging clients and families in a therapeutic alliance; delivering therapeutic interventions as directed; and functioning as an active member of the McCann staff. Assist with escorting clients within Bethel and outside of Bethel when needed. Expected to be an active participant in client social, educational, and therapeutic activities. Must be able to take direction and have a commitment to learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide client care that promotes safety and well-being
  • Maintain a healthy, safe, and structured environment
  • Engage clients and families in a therapeutic alliance
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions as directed
  • Function as an active member of the McCann staff
  • Escort clients within Bethel and outside of Bethel when needed
  • Participate in client social, educational, and therapeutic activities
  • Write progress reports that accurately reflect client progress
  • Read medication administration records
  • Add and subtract money
  • Solve practical problems in rapidly changing situations with limited standardization
  • Understand and apply instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Respond appropriately to aggressive and violent client behaviors

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • CPR, First Aid, and Non-violent Crisis Intervention certification required within first 90 days of hire
  • Valid Alaska Driver’s License required within 90 days of hire
  • Basic computer knowledge, accuracy, and dependability
  • Ability to work in residential treatment environments
  • Experience working with children preferred
  • Substance Abuse Certification preferred

Pay

Minimum hourly pay: $23.15

Schedule

  • Full-time (80 hours per week)
  • 40 hours per week
