This role combines standardized clinical rating with basic trial-related medical tasks, performed under the supervision of the study’s MD Principal Investigator (PI) and/or Sub-Investigator (Sub-I). Candidates must hold a current, unrestricted NP or PA license in good standing. Individuals with clinical or research experience in psychiatry and/or Alzheimer’s disease are highly encouraged to apply. Prior clinical research experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate symptoms and track clinical change across conditions including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, substance use disorders, and Alzheimer’s disease
  • Perform physical examinations and neurological examinations per protocol requirements, under the supervision of the PI/Sub-I
  • Review laboratory reports and ECGs, identifying and escalating clinically significant findings to the PI/Sub-I
  • Assess and document adverse events (AEs), supporting the PI/Sub-I in relatedness determinations
  • Collect, review, and document concomitant medications for protocol compliance and eligibility determinations
  • Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory requirements in a fast-paced research environment

What Success Looks Like

  • Conducting reliable, efficient, high-quality clinical assessments and medical evaluations in the context of a fast-paced clinical research setting
  • Demonstrating curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new assessments and working with diverse populations across a variety of psychiatric and neurological indications
  • Actively incorporating feedback to grow skills and strengthen performance over time
  • Working collaboratively with the PI/Sub-I and multidisciplinary team to support smooth study execution, participant safety, and protocol compliance

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted state license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA); board certification (e.g., PMHNP-BC or equivalent ANCC certification for NPs, NCCPA certification for PAs) preferred
  • Clinical experience in psychiatry, neurology, or a related field; experience working with patients with psychiatric and/or neurological conditions preferred
  • Comfort performing physical and neurological examinations and interpreting laboratory and ECG results
  • Availability to work weekdays, 9-5, in-person at our Dallas office. Occasional evening hours may be required.
