About the role

At DBH Northwest Ohio Behavioral Healthcare, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Supervisor to join our team. This role provides leadership and oversight to nursing staff while ensuring high-quality patient care in a behavioral health hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general and direct supervision of nursing staff, ensuring consistent adherence to standards of care.
  • Conduct regular rounds in residential units and review nursing care plan documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Review & follow up on Incident Reports, Codes, Medication Error Reports, Falls, and reports related to Mechanical Support Devices or Seclusion/Restraint.
  • Prepare and deliver clear written & verbal reports to Nurse Executives regarding clinical operations, staffing, and patient care issues.
  • Serve as Administrator on Duty (AOD) for entire facility during after-hours shifts as needed, providing leadership and operational support.

Qualifications

  • Current license as registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio (issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Revised Code).
  • 24 months experience in psychiatric nursing or delivery of nursing services to persons with developmental disabilities.
  • 3 months training or 3 months experience in employee training & development.
  • 3 courses or 9 months experience in public relations.
  • 3 courses or 9 months experience in counseling.
  • Official transcripts required for all post‑secondary education, coursework, or degrees listed on the application; must be submitted before a formal employment offer; failure to provide within five business days results in disqualification.
  • Equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment may be substituted for the experience requirements, but not for the mandated licensure.

Pay

This is an hourly position exempt from bargaining units, with a pay range of 15 on the E1 Exempt Pay Range Schedule. The selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range, with an opportunity for a pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and a yearly raise thereafter.

Schedule

Normal working hours are 6:00 PM–6:30 AM. The position is full‑time.
