Build meaningful relationships and practice exceptional medicine at Puget Sound Veterinary Specialty & Emergency (PSVSE). Our Internal Medicine service is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team in providing compassionate, collaborative, and advanced medical care to pets throughout the Pacific Northwest.
About the role
This is more than a traditional veterinary assistant position. Internal Medicine patients often require long-term care, advanced diagnostics, and ongoing client education. We're looking for someone who enjoys building lasting relationships with clients while providing exceptional hands-on patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assist our Internal Medicine Specialist and team with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments
- Safely restrain patients for examinations, imaging, procedures, and treatments
- Prepare patients for advanced diagnostics and specialty procedures
- Obtain patient histories and maintain accurate medical records
- Provide compassionate and professional client communication, including patient updates, appointment coordination, and discharge instructions
- Maintain treatment areas, stock supplies, and ensure efficient daily workflow
- Collaborate closely with our Emergency and Specialty teams to provide seamless patient care
- Deliver exceptional service to every patient and family that walks through our doors
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of veterinary assistant experience
- Strong patient restraint and animal handling skills
- Comfortable communicating with clients in both routine and emotionally sensitive situations
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Positive attitude with a desire to continually learn and grow
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a highly collaborative team
- Current Washington Medical Veterinary Clerk License preferred (candidates without it must be willing to obtain one)

$22.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
