Veterinary Assistant - Internal Medicine

Pay

The pay range for this position is $23.61 - $32.82 per hour. The pay is dependent on experience and advancement through the Kahuna leveling system. Additionally, there is a competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all medical and endoscopic procedures associated with maintaining and stabilizing patients.
• Calmly and gently approach and handle patients according to safety protocols and BluePearl's core values.
• Identify abnormal pathology and understand hospital estimates, presenting and explaining them to clients.
• Show patience and empathy to address client concerns and educate them in the areas of Internal Medicine.
• Prepare medications and patients/clients for discharge with concise directions for clients.
• Support the Internal Medicine team in all aspects of patient care.

Requirements

• Motivated and driven to succeed in a busy hospital environment.
• An interest in working in an educational environment and potentially pursuing a technician specialty within the veterinary field.
• Knowledgeable about safety protocols and BluePearl's core values.
• Ability to calm and handle patients gently.
• Understanding of hospital estimates and ability to communicate them effectively to clients.
• Patience and empathy towards clients.
• Basic knowledge of internal medicine and ability to provide exceptional care for patients.
• Ability to prepare medications and patients/clients for discharge.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S.
• Not requiring future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.

Schedule

Shifts may vary but typically include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shift differentials are offered for night and weekend shifts.
