Veterinary Assistant- Internal Medicine

About the role

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Assistant for their busy Internal Medicine department. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, multitasking, team-focused, driven, dependable, committed, and knowledgeable.

Responsibilities

• Calmly and gently approach and handle patients according to safety protocols and core values.
• Identify abnormal pathology and understand hospital estimates, presenting and explaining them to clients.
• Show patience and empathy to address client concerns and educate them in Internal Medicine.
• Prepare medications and patients/clients for discharge with concise directions.
• Support the Internal Medicine team in all aspects of patient care.

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal skills in a team atmosphere.
• An interest in working in an educational environment.
• Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable about internal medicine and its management.
• Experience with medical and endoscopic procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
