About the Role

Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator II (Vaccines for Children (VFC)/Immunization Quality Improvement for Providers (IQIP) Coordinator), this role performs activities related to provider services and data analysis for federal and state-funded vaccine programs. The position ensures immunization providers comply with policies, procedures, and laws, and collaborates with regional and central office staff to enhance service effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates immunization provider data via the Statewide Immunization Online Network (SIMON) and CDC-supported applications to resolve coverage gaps and maintain provider networks.
• Coordinates, processes, reviews, and monitors program compliance activities, including site visits, provider enrollment, re-certification, disenrollment, vaccine orders, and access to CDC/agency software applications.
• Analyzes provider enrollment and vaccine administration data using Microsoft Excel and other platforms.
• Generates coverage assessment reports for providers and collaborates with DPH’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) team to update public-facing provider information.
• Provides consultation to providers on storage and handling incident management and assists with tracking incidents via phone, email, or other methods.
• Participates in Immunization Information System (IIS) testing and serves as a technical expert on VFC and vaccine management IIS functionalities.
• Offers SIMON technical assistance and support to VFC providers.
• Attends trainings, workshops, in-services, and meetings with internal and external partners.
• Provides coverage and support to the Vaccine Provider Operations team as needed.
• Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for VFC and IQIP software applications and assists in provider site visit data analysis to track performance and progress.
• Provides technical assistance and ongoing education to VFC providers in alignment with state and federal guidance.
• Identifies inefficiencies, suggests process enhancements, and ensures accuracy in tasks to support program success.
• Prepares timely and accurate reports to support decision-making, ensuring data validation and consistency.
• Collaborates across teams to identify recurring challenges and recommend process improvements for efficiency, compliance, and service delivery.
• Performs other related duties, special projects, and required travel, including responding to emergencies outside normal work hours.

Requirements

• A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
• Applicants with college credit or degrees may upload unofficial transcripts; official transcripts will be required prior to hiring.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered, subject to approval by the SCDPH Chief Human Resources Officer.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Public Health, the Vaccines for Children Program, and/or Program Coordination.
