Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the prospect pipeline, tracking data movement and generating target prospect pools for Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) fundraising teams and strategic initiatives.
- Conduct data analyses and prepare comprehensive reports on prospect metrics to help identify new opportunities and drive strategic fundraising decisions.
- Uphold industry best practices (APRA standards) regarding data confidentiality, quality control, and data integrity across all fundraising operations.
- Build supportive, collaborative relationships with major gift officers, serving as a strategic partner to advance prospect development and engagement strategies.
- Analyze and optimize fundraising portfolios throughout the year to ensure gift officers are assigned the highest-potential prospects and portfolios remain balanced and active.
- Utilize analytical software tools (such as Excel, Tableau, and SQL) to extract, manipulate, and analyze complex prospect data from various internal systems.
- Perform routine data audits to proactively ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of prospect management records.
- Deliver ad-hoc reports and technical assistance to internal stakeholders, translating technical data into actionable fundraising insights.
- Contribute to major systems projects, including participating in the collaborative implementation and transition to the department’s new CRM platform.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- One to three years of academic or professional experience working with datasets (including collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and reporting data), though not required
- Robust familiarity with both Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with prospect management concepts and best practices, with a preference for experience within a higher education or fundraising context
- An analytical thinker with a natural curiosity and a strong interest in continuously expanding and advancing data analysis skills
- A steadfast commitment to understanding, practicing, and protecting strict data confidentiality and integrity
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate data observations clearly
- Exceptional organizational habits, proven prioritization abilities, and a sharp attention to detail
- Self-motivated and able to work independently for extended periods, while maintaining a proven track record as a collaborative, reliable team player
