We’re looking for an experienced wordsmith with InDesign skills to craft winning responses to RFPs and RFQs in the civil/structural engineering world. Your expertise will drive our continued growth by developing clever strategies, managing the proposal team, and creating winning proposals—all while working with a fun and supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Create customized and comprehensive proposals, managing the composition and production of all components to ensure full compliance with RFQ/RFP requirements.
• Collaborate with team members—including technical, business development, internal marketing, and teaming partners—to compile information and manage deliverables.
• Manage proposal timelines and coordinate with internal stakeholders to meet deadlines.
• Engage and manage proposal team resources to oversee and produce multiple, concurrent proposals.
• Review and synthesize RFQs/RFPs to create clear proposal roadmaps and conduct necessary research.
• Bring IEI’s brand, experience, and personnel to life through persuasive storytelling, cohesive themes, and high-quality graphics and layouts.
• Write, edit, and proofread proposal content to ensure completeness, coherence, and compliance.
• Build a highly productive and successful proposal team while identifying and implementing process efficiencies.
• Manage and create InDesign templates or other graphic materials as needed.
• Assist in developing other marketing materials as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of proven experience crafting proposals in the AEC industry, with a focus on civil engineering preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the RFP/RFQ process for state, county, and municipal transportation agencies.
• Advanced InDesign skills; proficiency with other Adobe products is a plus.
• Exceptional writing and verbal editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Creative ability to develop visually unique graphics for proposal covers, tables, and illustrations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop professional relationships.

Physical Demands

The role requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and talking or hearing. Work Environment

The role is primarily office-based or remote, requiring the use of standard office equipment. Occasional outdoor work in various weather conditions may be required. The employee must be able to walk short distances and carry small parcels or packages.
