About the role
The Commissioning Team Lead is responsible for leading the Commissioning Specialists site team for the commissioning of Symbotics robotic cells. This is a remote, field-based position supporting regional site commissioning projects within the East, Central, or West U.S. regions.
Responsibilities
- Key point of contact at customer sites providing daily guidance and technical expertise.
- Support customer support during the commissioning stage of the project milestones.
- Partner with Manager to coordinate hands-off and pre-commissioning validation with installation, schedule commissioning team members and contractors, review performances, maintain site status KPIs, and prepare reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Automated Production Management, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading automated commissioning teams.
- Proficiency in PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Rockwell Automation, Siemens) and HMI systems.
- Experience with industrial robotics (ABB, Fanuc) and industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet).
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical plans and troubleshoot automated systems.
- Self-starter with the ability to take on increasing responsibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to deepen expertise in complex systems.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration across engineering disciplines.
- Adaptability to work in a rapidly evolving startup environment.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
- Must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.
- Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.
Skills
- Preparation, planning, and coordination of the site commissioning schedule.
- Preparation of performance reports for commissioning and testing to site support team and cross-functional business partners.
- Coaching and mentoring site team members and providing technical support for daily activities.
- Leading daily scrum meetings for the operational team and participating in the site scrum meeting for team leaders and site managers.
- Participation in various initiatives of continuous production improvement, standardization, and improvement of the installation and start-up processes, while ensuring compliance with all health and safety policies.
Benefits
Base range for this position in the posted location is $101,000.00 - $138,600.00. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
