The Opportunity

The Property & Casualty Claims Advocate facilitates interactions between clients and carriers regarding property & casualty issues, including claim reviews and ongoing issues. They also assist in TPA and insurance carrier selections, address client concerns, and negotiate plans of action.

• Prepares and presents claim reviews to clients periodically.
• Selects and works with TPA and insurance carriers.
• Addresses client questions and concerns.
• Communicates with clients via phone and in person.
• Negotiates with insurers.
• Analyzes loss history for risk reduction strategies.
• Maintains accurate claim files.
• Updates HUB computer systems and agency management systems.
• Applies knowledge of policy coverage.
• Identifies and corrects carrier errors.
• Stays informed about industry changes and applies new knowledge.
• Attends industry-related continuing education.
• Accesses and utilizes claims-related carrier online systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED
• 2-3 years property & casualty claims adjustment experience (brokerage preferred) or equivalent combination of education & experience
• Property & Casualty License required or willingness to obtain within 3 months
• Confidence and demeanor to interact with all organizational levels
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and agency management systems
• Problem-solving ability
• Critical thinking ability
• Prioritization and organization skills
• Effective communication skills (oral and written)
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
• Ability to respond to customer needs and handle difficult situations
• Teamwork and coaching abilities
• Reading and analyzing business periodicals and governmental regulations

• Primarily stationary position for the workday
