Property and Casualty Claims Associate Advocate

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assists clients in reporting new claims to the carrier within the required timeframe.
• Directs contact with the carrier claims department within 24 hours of reporting to identify the claim number and ensure an adjuster is assigned to the loss.
• Maintains regular contact with adjusters to monitor the status of claims and update relevant parties.
• Supports the Claims Team in preparing claim documentation and review requests.
• Communicates proactively with clients, carriers, and vendors.
• Advocates for clients' interests in all claims matters under the supervision of the Claims Team.
• Maintains accurate and organized claim files by documenting statuses, updating computer systems, and ensuring data accuracy.
• Navigates various carrier databases.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School/GED
• 1-2 years insurance industry work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information with internal and external customers
• Confidence and demeanor to effectively interact with all levels within the organization
• Ability to gather and analyze pertinent information and facts, solving problems promptly and thoroughly
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
• Critical Thinking: Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of solutions and approaches

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Primarily stationary position for the majority of the workday
• Frequent communication with colleagues and clients in person and on the phone
• Constantly operates computers and other office machinery
• Sometimes moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
