Project Surveyor (Survey Specialist 3)

Responsibilities
- Provide office survey support to the Project Manager and Field Staff.
- Responsible for record mapping, ALTA maps, parcel maps, and topographic surveys.
- Prepare and create maps, record research, and field crew prep.
- Perform research, design and calculations for survey and mapping projects.
- Utilize Civil 3D for topographic maps, exhibits, calculations and deliverables.
- Experience with operations; standard survey equipment in the field such as Total Stations, GPS, Levels, Drones, LiDAR, etc.
- Aid in boundary determinations, retracement, and procedure analysis.
- Review project design plans for consistency.
- Prepare RFI’s.
- Keep a log to track the changes, questions, and responses.
- Calculate horizontal and vertical curves, offsets for construction elements.
- Calculate reductions of field notes, download data collectors, and provide QC of the data from survey field.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and results of settlement or vibration monitoring data.
- Perform calculations in support of field crews performing heavy construction staking on roadways, retaining walls, bridges, drainage, and utility structures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Project Manager
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background in modern and conventional survey methods, including LiDAR, photogrammetry, GPS/TPS, and drone-based mapping. This position requires close coordination between field and office teams, as well as direct engagement with clients to understand project requirements and recommend optimal surveying solutions.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience LSIT or PLS Washington a plus but not required.
- Civil3D, Microsoft suite, Starnet, Leica office software, knowledge of MicroStation (Inroads / Openroads).
Skills
Strong technical background in modern and conventional survey methods, including LiDAR, photogrammetry, GPS/TPS, and drone-based mapping. $38.46 - $62.05 hourly rate
