About the role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Project Surveyor to join The Major Projects Team at Bristol City Council. Based within Homes & Landlord Services, you will play a lead role in the delivery of the Council’s cladding remediation programme across its high-rise blocks.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the Council’s cladding remediation programme across its high-rise blocks.
  • Support the appointed contractors in overseeing the delivery of the remediation work.
  • Collaborate with architects, planners and construction consultants throughout the duration of assigned projects.
  • Work closely with Turner & Townsend to manage the mobilization, delivery, and completion of the works.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Manage and resolve building defects and issues related to the cladding system.
  • Oversee the implementation of retrofit cladding systems.

Requirements

  • Experience of surveying to carry out improvements to residential property.
  • Experience of working within social housing (beneficial).
  • Knowledge and experience in the construction industry, especially refurbishment and retrofit projects.
  • A background as a building surveyor or construction professional with experience of contract administration, project management, defect diagnosis, and condition surveying.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with architects, planners, construction professionals, and residents in the delivery of refurbishment projects.
  • Qualifications and experience demonstrating knowledge of building defects and solutions, and a track record of managing different types of contracts and working with contractors and sub-contractors delivering large refurbishment projects.
