Project Manager - Make Ready

About the role

USA Compression Partners, LP (NYSE: USAC) provides mission-critical natural gas compression services to large upstream and midstream energy companies. This role is responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and budget of make-ready projects for the USAC fleet, including unit research, scope descriptions, cost analysis, and engineering reconfiguration. The position supports the Operations team and maintains customer relationships both internally and externally with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Review Internal Rate of Return (IRR) requests from Application Engineers.
• Work with Engineering to provide feedback on sizing, make-ready costs, adder costs, and reconfiguration costs to the IRR Group.
• Assist with unit evaluation and scope detail on fleet make-ready projects to prepare units for new contract sets.
• Collaborate with internal groups and third-party shops to ensure adherence to make-ready scope and Quality Control.
• Travel to operating areas and third-party shops to supervise make-ready work as needed (approximately 25% travel).
• Prepare project documentation for operations regarding unit make-ready, reconfiguration, and final scope.
• Engage in team-oriented project work for the company and customers.
• Gather and prepare data for reports critical to equipment health and operations feedback.
• Assist in writing company make-ready standards.
• Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, technical or trade school certification preferred, or 5 years minimum experience in project management.
• Minimum 8 years of work experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in natural gas compression.
• Understanding of industry codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, EPA, etc.).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and OEM sizing/performance programs.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to legally work in the U.S.
