About the role
We are currently seeking a Project Manager I – W/WW to join our Lexington, KY office. This role is ideal for an early- to mid-career engineer ready to take on project management responsibilities while continuing to grow under the guidance of senior staff.
Responsibilities
- Manage small to mid-sized water and wastewater projects with oversight from senior project managers.
- Assist in developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets while ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Serve as a day-to-day client contact, facilitating meetings, gathering project information, and providing project updates.
- Cook up internal design efforts by assigning tasks to engineers and technicians and monitoring project progress.
- Support QA/QC efforts by reviewing plans, calculations, and technical deliverables.
- Prepare engineering design documents, technical reports, cost estimates, and permitting packages.
- Cook up with public agencies, utilities, subconsultants, and regulatory reviewers throughout project development.
- Contribute to proposal preparation, including technical content, resumes, project descriptions, and cost inputs.
- Track project performance, assist with invoicing, and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Promote a collaborative team environment that supports communication, problem solving, and efficient project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in water/wastewater, municipal infrastructure, or related infrastructure projects.
- EIT required; PE license preferred or actively pursuing licensure.
- Experience working with municipalities, utilities, or public-sector clients.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to interact with clients under moderate guidance.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and maintain project momentum.
- Collaborative mindset with interest in developing leadership and project management capabilities.
Qualifications
- Must be eligible for EIT registration.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
